Module 2 Reflections
The readings were helpful because they explained the concepts and terms for the lesson.
They also provided good examples of how to use the tools.
The activities were helpful because we actually used the tools. I like problem-based
learning using real life problems, so this was my favorite part of the lesson.  I also
was able to tie different terms and concepts together like username, id's and what the
apps actually do. I also found using the blog to tie all the tools together a skill I can
use at work. The practice of integrating everything together was another skill I can use
in the workplace. New insights for me include RSS feeds, tagging and productivity tools. I have always heard of RSS feeds but was never sure how to use them. Now I can.  Tagging is a clever way
to organize social content and search. I will use this feature in the workplace. I liked
how all the tools can make me more productive in the workplace for training.
I will apply these skills in my workplace training environment. I will setup a
blog for my team and incorporate the RSS feeds, bookmarks, photos, podcasts and
posts.  I ran this by my team last week and they were excited. They had tried to figure
out how to use these tools but couldn't and want me to set this up for our team.
What will directly help me when planning and developing learning environments  is I can
now incorporate social tools into my training and also incorporate social tools in
to my team's work environment.
Note: Please read my RSS Feed post for my RSS Feed input for this assignment.

  1. Added RSS feeds and resources are great. Can you try including URLs and image or media files to explore applying 'connective writing' Deb? :-)

  2. Hi Deb. I really like the layout of your blog. Reading your posts make me reflect on how much I would use this blog after this class is over. I felt many of the web tools I learned about were beneficial and could be very helpful so after reading how you plan to use what you learned in your work environment, I want to be very intentional about making sure that even a month or 6 months from now, I am still utilizing this blog.

Sometimes I can feel disconnected from my class assignments due to my personality and other things I have going on, but I can definitely sense intrinsic motivation from using the web tools such as this blog, RSS feeds and bookmarks to enhance by role as an educator and my desire to do entrepreneurial-type endeavors with IDT.
